Don't know if any of you caught it, but the guest Market Monitor on Nightly Business Report (Bruce Sherman) mentioned QCOM as a stock that looks attractive below $50. Here's a link to the transcript, the comment is about 2/3 down the page.

Mike,
A comment about the "CDMA Vs. GSM" article that you posted from the
LSI thread on Saturday. The article repeatedly mentions the idea that some carriers (especially smaller ones and those in less developed countries) will choose to go with GSM because of its "time-to-market" advantage. It seems to me that the results of the roll-out of digital cellular and PCS services in the U.S. clearly demonstrates that there is no such advantage for GSM. The GSM vendors certainly touted that as an advantage, but it utterly failed to materialize. In fact, I think that the results would point to CDMA systems as having had better time-to-market performance. The author seems not to have examined whether this claimed GSM advantage actually exists; this makes me question how well she has done her homework.

One interesting point: if the numbers in the article are right, CDMA systems are already ahead of GSM systems in the U.S., with 1.5 M vs. 1.2 M subscribers.
