No need to guess. Perforate means to set off some explosive charges to "shoot" holes through the steel casing so as to allow formation fluids to flow into the well.

Acidizing involves pumping acid (usually HCL) into the bottom of the well and displacing it through the perforations and out into the reservoir rocks. The purpose of the acid is simply to "eat" any particulate matter (such as drilling mud) that may be plugging the pores in the rocks and impeding fluids from flowing into the well. In addition to dissolving mud solids, HCL acid readily dissolves carbonate rock material and so an acid job on a carbonate reservoir such as the TV Mississippian will also create bigger pores in the rock. This then allows for easier and faster fluid flow.

Acidizing is very common in the oil patch. There may be a few wells in TV that have not had at least one acid job, but not very many.

Yesterday morning Esso\STF\BEA probably still had some significant questions because their production test hadn't yet gotten underway. But, by the time of your post (Fri 11:15pm, local) the well cleanup flow was well underway and by then they would have a very good handle on what they have.

And, by the way, no more need to wish and hope!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)
