There's an article in Barrons about what's going on in the PC sector. They too are confused. They quote an analyst who claims there is a product transition going on. (I had no idea.) If so we may be OK. Still I'm not so sure. The size of the earnings shortfalls suggest there is something more serious afoot.

Also in a prior post I pointed out that the semis will be hit bad if there is any sign of a PC slowdown - tarring with the same brush...

But yes the essential point is that if we can get past the next little while the ASPs will be increasing in short order and that means the semis will be booming. After all I don't think we have seen ASPs increase for any of the last 8 quarters(I think).
