That is how I will interpret (expenses breaking even with revenue ie no profit) and that is the interpretation the street is making.

My interpretation of "Compaqese".

Flat revenue = about the same sales as last year's quarter.

Flat earnings = about the same profit as last year's quarter.

Break-even earnings = NO profit, NO loss.

Example: Buy Compaq at $25. Sell Compaq at $25 = break-even.
