I actually haven't done too poorly with my shorts this year. Of course I gave up shorting the high fliers when I covered YHOO (EGGS is arguable, I didn't see it as a high flier when I shorted, covered when I realized that it was). I haven't made a whole lot of money on the short side, but the returns are still respectable, and excellent when you consider them in risk adjusted returns.

I may actually cover open shorts (AVNT and ENML) and put the money in FIBR and KRY. It really doesn't matter how the overall market is doing, there are always returns available on the short side.
