O/T, but you'll be able to say you heard about it here first. Just jumpin' in Spank. I know this is the IOM/ SYQT/ AOL/ QGLY/ INTC/ DELL/ CPQ/ etc. thread but since it's a slow news day I thought I'd share an intriguing upcoming IPO I have discovered in my own back yard. G&L Bank. Anyone heard of it? I didn't until an art dealer friend of mine told me about a client of his that was planning to build a gay and lesbian friendly bank in my home town and was I interested in bidding on the job. (I'm a general contractor) G&L Bank, get it? I thought yah, sure; another fool with too much money and time on his hands. Here's a great idea; let's build a gay and lesbian bank in a community that's had two abortion clinic killings. Bet the lobby will be crowded with customers looking to open new accounts. Hope the security guards are issued bomb sniffer dogs. Mid January our local paper published an article about a local entrepenuer who was going to open the country's first gay and lesbian online bank and that it would be going public this year. Now that's a whole different deal! I e-mailed the founder, Steven Dunlap, and offered to bid on the project. 2 weeks ago I received a call from Mr. Dunlap. "We've just leased the old Dean Witter building down town and need someone to remodel all the offices ASAP, are you interested?" "Sure, and what's the deal with this online publicly traded gay bank, I asked?" Well, suffice it to say I had a very interesting conversation with Mr. Dunlap and since then have been doing some DD on the subject. Ever heard of Atlanta Internet Bank? (NTBK) This is the future of retail banking. We have seen internet stock brokerage services revolutionize the industry. Banking and other financial services will soon follow suit. The user base is out there, the technology is here, and the first successful publicly traded pure internet bank is up and running now! Check out NTBK's stock performance. Up 50% since January! There are a boat load of reasons why G&L Holdings could be a very successful IPO but I'm not going to clog this thread with a long winded bull argument about another stock. Well, maybe one. Bet you wish you had bought and held AOL since it's $1 IPO. If you have any information about this company or it's upcoming IPO I'd like to hear from you. Also, let me know if you'd like information from me as I find out more. Please: No homophobic flames, I'm not gay, not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm discussing investment issues, not lifestyle or civil rights issues. Les
