Good morning Donnie. Don't you hate it when somebody tells you I told you so. So I won't! I'm fascinated at how the bears have suddenly emerged spreading their words of wisdom to us provincial dolts! Seems like the last time we had a bear attack was in October-December. These guys remind me of TV preachers -- always ready to save the poor lost souls. My cat Chuzzlewit has a great memory, and he reminded me this morning of the great PSFT debate almost a year ago. It seems that Chuzzlewit had persuaded me to join SI because it was a wonderful forum to trade news and view on the stock market. Anyhow, Chuzzlewit had just recommended that I increase my PSFT holdings, which I dutifully did at $33. Well, we checked the SI PSFT thread and all of the pundits were declaiming the imminent demise of not only PSFT, but the entire tech sector. Well, needless to say that PSFT is trading now at $47. What's that. Chuzzlewit? Oh -- he says to tell you that I forgot to mention that it split 2 for 1 in the interim, so it turns out that the annualized yield was 213%. Well, the funny thing about it is that the bear arguments aimed at PSFT were identical to the ones aimed at DELL. (1) The P/E is too high; (2) The price to book-value ratio is ridiculous; (3) Growth in the marketplace is definitely decreasing; (4) The current price assumes at least five years of stellar growth; et., etc. It's as if the argument is "canned", and they just pop open a new can whenever there is some bad news in the wind. Never mind that it may have nothing to do with Dell. Just pop open a new can of Spam. Regards, Paul and Chuzzlewit
