I sold most all of my shares in tech stocks 3/3/98 at open. Now
I am glad hearing news about INTC, CPQ on the bad side since I
had both in my portfolio. I also sold DELL, LU, IBM, and TD. I
did not sale STK because I only had a odd lot, and it has been
doing pretty good.

I have since put most back into TD. It is a Toronto Domnion Bank.
I learned about them when I had stock in my discount brokerage - Waterhouse. One year you could of had a eight bagger in WHOO.
It went from 3 to 30 in less than a year. TD bought them along with
several other brokerages. It may not be as flashy as a high tech company, but is is growing its discount brokerage and investment services worldwide aggressively. The stock continues to almost double in value every year, its price near 42 continues to look attractive to me with earnings at $3.50-$4.00 steadly increasing around 50 cents a year. Book value is +18.00 Dividends paid since 1857.

This bank stock is reaping the rewards of the general public
buying computers cheap and the saving/investing via internet etc.
for retirement trends.

So I sold all your CPQ and put it in the bank TD

All these diffculties may last a while. Disk drive manf.
don't make money either.

Maybe TD they can corner the market on internet trading of stocks. and get a PE ratio more like DELL's or MSFT's 50, right now its looking cheap at 7. If CPQ goes to a PE of 7 it will be worth 7 or 8.
BUY TD because I already have my position in place.
