Anybody know how well DSC is positioned relative to this
issue? I know they make SDH. Any WDM in the offing?

I have never shorted any stock; too risky for me. I would be more than pleased, and much richer, if someone did buy DSC at 30 or so, but it is not going to happen anytime soon, esp by CSCO. If someone did buy them, I would think it would more likely be a foreign co. like Siemen's(sp?), which would benefit from better access to the US market. Siemen's is supposed to have a distribution agreement with DSC that has not been officially announced for some reason, but was mentioned by an analyst who put a hold rating on DSC about a month or so ago. In any case, any takeover is very unlikely for DSC. There are cheaper and better companies to buy. In any case, none of our comments on this board have any real impact on the stock price. What would move the stock price to the benefit of shareholders is for management to resign. But that is as likely as a CSCO takeover.
