DS- I'm not sure what you're time horizon is. If its ten years or more before you draw, I probably wouldn't worry about the current situation and would let my equity accounts be. If its three or less, you made a pre-emptive strike against the bear which historically is inevitable. If you're banking primarily on this account for retirement, I would get some help from a trustworthy analyst on a per hour or consultation basis. TIAA-CREF has all the options you need; you do not need to put them elsewhere, but allocation is critical. It'll cost a couple bucks but should pay off many times.

Best Wishes,

Timoteo

DS. I also moved most of my 403(b) equity funds into cash this week. While I still have many many years to retirement, and realize that timing is not a good idea, I did that anyway. I'll get back in when the Dow hits 7800 or 9000 whichever comes first.

Regards,

Tom
