'It's the season !'

Mike:
Can't say I know exactly what will happen Monday but it would safe to assume CPQ will open down with many other tech stocks. But I consider it a good thing that CPQ announced the 'warning' on a Friday after the market close as this would have given enough time for investors to think things through and come Monday morning they should have a clear vision as to what they want to do. A lot of investors will sit tight and do nothing, a lot of bottom feeders will jump in and buy and lot more will sell and hopefully by late afternoon things could stabilize a bit. We can expect a lot more companies coming out with 'warnings' in the next two weeks, not only technology companies but others as well. Like I said before 'it's the season' for 'earnings warning'.

Mike, please pardon my intrusion:
Just heard on CNN Moneyweek that analysts' are saying holders of CPQ and Intel should not sell. They expect a couple of bad weeks in the tech sector; however, do not expect Monday, for CPQ, to be as bad as some might anticipate.

I know you cover your holdings with options and all, but I would like to make a comment to the thread, in general. To ALL long term holders out there: don't forget why you bought CPQ in the first place. This is a bump in the road. All BIG companies have them. I freaked out on MSFT lost year and sold with a loss. If I had stayed in, I would be way ahead of the game now. If you are just trading in CPQ, then admit that your timing was off or you didn't study the charts very well.
STOP WHINING
