Chaz, Now US senators don't like being condescended to, they don't like being defied, and they like their questions answered.

I saw only some bits and pieces of the hearing but did see Hatch asking for a yes or no answer to the question I pasted in below. Having seen Hatch in person on a number of occasions and seeing him here in Utah a lot on T.V. I can definitely say that he was PISSED OFF! Of course I never expected a yes or no answer but Hatch wasn't the one being questioned here, yes Bill blew it on this one. Probably should have never answered the question, or should I say try to answer it.

But the only person in the room who seemed to get visibly angry at Gates
was Hatch. In one heated exchange, Gates repeatedly sidestepped
Hatch's questions about whether Microsoft has anti-competitive deals
with Internet content providers. "Do you put any limitations on content
providers that limit them . . . from advertising and promoting Netscape?"

Gates: "Every Internet content provider that has a business relationship
with Microsoft is free to use competing standards.

Hatch: "But do you limit the advertising and promotion of Netscape?"

Gates: "More companies are on the Netscape channel than Microsoft."

Hatch, getting irritated: "Does Microsoft or you put any limit, I mean you
too."

Gates: "What do you mean me too?"

Hatch looked as if he'd pop his shirt collar.

Gates in charge
