RE: Rinky-Dink SparQ.

Edwin,

I saw the same thing. At Computer City, there was a SparQ and cartridge sitting in the return pile. When I asked if the flimsy disks in the demo were real, the salesman handed me the returned disk. It was exactly the same. I couldn't believe it.

I'm going to buy a SparQ and some disks next week to do some speed and reliability tests. Computer City has a 14 day return period on hardware. Unless it really blows me away, I'll be returning it. I'll also be buying a Buz to check out the Editing functionality. (But that's a subject for a different thread. <G>)

Edwin-I have compared the SparQ and Syjet cartridges. They seem virtually identical from the outside. I wouldn't call them flimsy. I'm not aware that there have been problems with dust getting in with the Syjet, which has been around long enough for problems to surface. I haven't had any problem with my internal Syjet. On the other hand, I thought that fit and finish could be better on the external SparQ drive, at least on the one I bought. Whether that affects function or is merely cosmetic I don't know.
