There is no way cpq can make their annual earnings estimates. In fact according to EP the whole damn year (1998) is going to suck big time. Wait till they start taking write-offs for DEC deal; continued weakness (according to EP) throughout 98 will result in a total blow-out for 98. Furthermore, you heard it hear first here and I previously posted on this thread my broker at AG Edwards says that the inside information on the street is that DEC's quarter is going to stink big time - a total blow out - they anticipate sizable losses!!! I didn't believe him at the time but I'm getting religion fast!!! He also told me that he is not high enough in the food chain to get the inside info. early enough but everyone knows that the big bucks guys have a direct line to inside info. and began acting on the cpq news ten days ago!!
