Intel's response to this slow down bears a lot of resemblance to the slowdown they described last May & June - they sited Europe at that time and this time as well.

I sure these new Slot 2 workstations and Uber-Desktop PCs (April 15) add some zip to Intel's sales (and sails!).

Ian, thanks for the article. What I found important was that Intel said PII still on schedule (i'm assumign this means 50% by end of Q2). This is very important since Intel wants to get rid of Slot 7, and use their 3-pronged strategy (Basic PC, High Performance, etc.). Bad news for the clones. In fact, it seems that CPQ's problem may be that the older inventory is not selling in the commercial segment(e.g. P233MMX).
