Night Rider,we do not have to enter a contingency agreement with attorneys. That is why I recommend a fundraising by the plaintiffs who would be represented in the lawsuit. If 100 to 250 of us contribute $1,000 each, this generates $100,000 to $250,000. If we contribute $2,000 we generate $200,000 to $500,000 for the lawsuit. Contingency agreements dictate that at least 1/3 of the judgement goes to the attorneys. I do not feel that suing Compaq is like suing myself. A judgement against CPQ to pay damages to 100 to 250 plaintiffs is not going to send them into bankruptcy. They could pay it out of their petty cash funds. With all due respect to your viewpoint, I believe you overestimate the impact to CPQ.
