"this is NOT a single quarter issue. In a nutshell he is saying 1998 will suck. As to why - he doesn't know. Does anyone know??? "

re EP not knowing - it is his job to know as CEO. If he doesn't have a clue get him out of there ! He and Mason need to get their stories straight. EP needs to quite fanticizing (sp) about being a 50 bil company by 2000 and watch who is minding the store.

I still have a disconnect re PC demand in North America, based on what DELL says there are no issues ! What gives ?

I truly am not trying to get flamed here, but I am a very silent cpq and dell investor who is scared to death about Monday. Consequently, to blow off the tension I have started a pool to predict CPQ Monday's close. So far it is worth 4 bucks to the winner, with 22 7/8 to 27 predicted. Wanna make it 5 bucks?

Thanks

joe

It DELL does not have end user's demand problem. then its CPQ's product problem. If this is the case( and it sounds like to be the case) it will last for a long time.
