jtechkid, i've never understood it. these are the same dolts that bought at $60 and in the high $50s. i think they believe mu is undervalued b/c it is 1/3 off its high - even though you have to be a dolt to use that as a basis to buy a stock. the other thing mu has going for it is that it is a very liquid stock. the big boys can play it.

everyone seems to think dram will turn and go up in price. they think supply is going to dwindle. funny, b/c these same dolts are betting that amat does very well by providing equipment to increase supply.

cognitive dissodence is the appropriate term. i'm just waiting for the big picture to sift its way through the granite brains of these fund managers. when fear replaces their nonsensical greed then we have a ton of downside.

expect a big loss from mu. expect inventories to be way up. expect them to grovel about the sk bailout. expect them to go to uncle sugar with congressional kneepads.

but, whatever you do, don't ask them about their business environment. ask me. i know their business 10 times better than they do.

jtech, the bull side (I don't agree with their conclusions) is that DRAM prices have already bottomed, the Korean producers are going to go out of business, MU is the low cost producer, there are 44 million shorts, etc. Also, TA factors have helped prop the stock, mucho liquidity, Fidelity and Capital Asset Management might not want their positions to lose their value, etc.

jtechkid, Man, did you ask the wrong guy. This company is a bowwow and has been for a few years now. However, the stock, though down from $95, is nowhere near its eventual low, in single digits, IMHO. That is because there seems to be no end of naivety among Micron bulls and so many think the last eps peak will be repeated withing the next ten years, and I don't. Also, the huge number of short sellers allow bulls to manipulate the stock higher from time to time. Sooner or later, reality wins over manipulation. It worked back in the days of Resorts International and it has worked for Micron several cycles in the past. MB
