James Barrett, You are very correct in what you say but I don't believe that you fully understand what you are saying. Yes, PCs are getting dirt cheap and therefore, demand will be much higher. Hence, more volume makes up for margin loss. Also, believe that Compaq will definitely be one of the handful left when all is said.

I agree. Not only are the prices very cheap, but for most PC users there will never be a need to have processors faster than the current ones. Most people and businesses use PCs for spreadsheets, word processing, and the like.
