David,
<<Sadly, this is not a favorite theme among Americans any more. Runyanesque successes are envied, despised, and targets of quick buck legal manipulators. When they fall, America cheers.>>

Sadly I have to agree. What was once the vanguard of U.S. business now seems guarded against for some reason. But it is the leaders that make it so IMO. I think the average working stiff in the U.S. still harbors his dreams and still admires folks like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. It is telling that since the early 50s the federal register has grown exponentially. Frankly I see a shift in the U.S. to a mind set of preserving wealth instead of making wealth. It is one of the underlying reasons I am here quite honestly. I just felt that for what hopefully will be the last 10 years of my working life, there was much more fertile ground here then in the U.S. The advent of the Asian economic crisis has thrown me a curve ball, and I did not see it coming, but I think it may actually work in my favor eventually. I was still testing waters when the s**t hit the fan thankfully. Its given me a chance to re base line my thinking.

best,
Stitch
