Like you I can't wait for Monday...the resilience of this bull market is truly remarkable...scary in fact...the Dell volatility is definitely not for the squeamish...Up to 143 7/8 and boom, down to 127 5/8...it's a day traders paradise! If things go true to form there should be another dip and a strong rally at the close...however, how many times can one count on the same scenario repeating itself? I imagine the MMs are so emboldened with the success of their intraday computerized buy and sell programs on Dell that they will run it down steeper and run it back up again faster than the mint can print $100 dollar bills... Dell Day Trading is making the fund managers filthy rich...I hope it continues, but I'm also aware that the ants can show up and ruin a perfectly good picnic.

Kenneth, good to see you from over at the CPQ thread. Hope Hawaii is as wonderful as always. You might consider some Merek, (MRK), it is a safe haven, drugs stocks are strong, they're top in the field, and it is a fun one to trade. It reflects the DOW, of course, and moves quite deliberately. DELL is soooo much better than than CPQ dog, the story at CPQ has been too clouded for too long, DELL is the AMZN of computer buying, w/o the warehouse of product.

"Monday may not be so bad" That is what I am thinking too. Plain and simple, this problem is Compaq's inventory problem, not an end user demand problem. They just used market demand as an excuse to cover their channel inventory mismanagement and in the process to bring down the whole sector. Both DELL and HWP just released their earnings and there is no problem with the end users demand. Frankly, I don't think Compaq has a chance going forward. ODM does not work. As long as you have an indirect channel, it gives management and sales person an incentive (commissions and bonus) to stuff it. Just like drug, you become addicted. DELL will takes over the world sooner or later. I will just keep buying on dip.
