I don't believe that Fab25 is running the .25um process at those yields.
Maybe at SDC, but not yet in Austin. Remember, AMD has a very intelligent
process transfer methodology that calls for the equipment to be different
between sites ... I'm still trying to figure out the benefits of their
strategy.

Also IMHO, 50% yield is a little above the "break-even point" for the
.25um process ... especially when you are talking about CPU's that will
sell for <$200 (Silicon+WaferTest+Packaging+PackageTest ...). We should
all review Ali Chen's infamous saying : "There is no high margins in
the sub-$1000 PC market. It is time to memorize this."
