Hebrews 8:13

"When He said, "A new covenant," He made the first obsolete. But whatever is obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear."

There is no longer any benefit to anyone in the old covenant. Anyone who rely's on the precepts of the old covenant to draw near to God is doomed. There is no reason to believe the ark in God's temple you refer to is the same ark that was in the earthly temple, that's too far a stretch. His covenant now is His Son Jesus Christ. There would not be an ark for an obsolete covenant in His temple now.

John 14:6

"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the father except through me."

Warning to all that may come by here as a result of mentioning the Ark of the OLD Testament. If by any strange and terrible twist of the human mind this precipitates an intrusion into this conversation with blasts of rabid New Covenant theology and anti-Jewish rehtoric for no apparent purpose other than anti-Jewish rehtoric, I will personally take this matter to webmistress with great detail, and be sure that a decision on this matter is made for all time, and as to the extent it is allowed to continue.

Sorry to all not involved. Just a warning to those that are.

Nancy, I am going to pull out a little piece I wrote on the Ark 3 years ago and post it here. I re-read it the other day scanning my personal floppies and enjoyed reading it again myself.

Before Jesus Christ there was no opportunity for anyone to experience God. Except that apparently He did indwell somehow at the Ark. Enoch, of course, and obviously Noah, etc. But few in the Bible. The rest were drowned eventually--no great love there for the rest of them that I can see, and apparently the human product was simply totally turning themselves over to satan generation after generation.

Then came the Ark. For that reason the Ark could hardly be of more importance in history, second only to the coming of Jesus Christ.

We are intruding here on matters of extreme holiness, and I hope this will not be used as an opportunity for terrible discussions.
