Has anyone seen the business week article on the perils of market timing? Its general conclusion is that none of the market timing newswletters has outperformed the S&P 500 over the past ten years.

It shows BB marketimer as the second best newsletter --> yet the return still falls short of the S&P 500.

I am just wondering if it is "smart" to try to time the market. In addition it seems like the market, particularly with regard to large US national companies, is extremely efficient and attempts to outperform it are foolish.
