No Doubt "Security Software" is the hottest of the hot, but VRSN is about more than security capabilities. There B. model is based largely on their branding their
products (according to their CEO). Other Fortune 500 companies can develop the same systems as VRSN-- indeed they are-- and have the resources to make their
products more visible than VRSN. Security software is especially
hot in the enterprise network world-- not in the consumer market.

Most importantly, according to the NYT and people they spoke with,
the value of VRSN assumes that they will _own_ the market for consumer
internet secure transaction. And, this is based on very optimistic
assumptions about the revenue generated by this market in 4 years.

VRSN will be a middle player in this market. Please see nyt.com
and do a search for VeriSign. If you have any interest in this stock
it's a must read.
