something worth discussing here? a couple of thoughts I'd like to share with other online shareholders. first of all, I think we may be getting confused between MicroSoft investing in WAVO, and Vulcan Group's interest. It's possible that the impression we got of MicroSofts previous investment interest was from the common assumption that Vulcan investment is like MicroSoft itself investing. While that may be the case in many instances, the revelation of Friday's press release was that MicroSoft itself now has it's own investment interest. Judging by the price and time frame that MicroSoft bought WAVO stock, it looks like they were simply "supporting" the stock price of an important partner during the rough SEA deterioration period last fall, than actually "investing" in WAVO. Another thing worth considering is the VBI trails MSFT is doing on their cable systems. The likelyhood exists that MSFT may have an interest in WAVO beyond WaveTop, but rather the data distribution system they've successfully managed to impliment. It's possible that thru-put for WavePhore's VBI on a cable system, rather then by antenna, could have even higher thru-put potential. This is a very provocative notion to those looking at this stock, unsure whether WaveTop could actually make a market for itself. Another issue I considered last month, but hesitated to share till now, is the similarities and compatibilities between WaveTop and MicroSoft Explorer 4.0 It's entirely possible that should the Justice Department and Senate significantly hamper MicroSoft's ability to bundle a browser with Windows '98, then they may have to resort to selling/bundleing it through another company with a sympathetic product, like WavePhore. I have little to back these musing up, but I hope followers of this stock might enjoy reading my thoughts, as far fetched as they may be. Personally, I'm thinking of halving my postition this week when the volume dies down. There is still too much potential for the market overall to take a hit during the earnings warning/release period that's now starting. I doubt we'll see Windows'98 released anytime before May'98 anyway. Even if WaveTop is release prior to Windows'98 release, it will have little impact until people start enjoying it as part of "WebTV for Windows" IMHO. Hey, I just noticed we made "hot subjects" today. Must be a slow weekend, hehehe.
