Wai, Scrapps:
1) I have not heard/seen of anybody successfully (or not)
... that has connected to an ISP with V.90 with either a V.90
... modem or an x2 modem.
2) This is the first problem I have seen with the V.90 code, I
... know no more about it than what was printed.
3) Reasons for upgrading:
... a) It will be here shortly and free.
... b) Ability to change to a ROK ISP that has V.90 code.
... c) Boardwalk tests showed a little increase in speed when V.90
........ is on both ends.
4) Reasons to not upgrade:
... a) Free upgrade is good until end of year.
... b) ISP may not have V.90 code yet.
... c) Hey, I never buy a car in the first year it is introduced. I
....... like to wait until the bugs are out.
5) Why aren't x2 ISPs upgraded yet? World moves slow, most probably
... have dates similar to ours, they probably want to do their tests
... first. I will keep an eye on 56k.com and the big ISPs like
... Mindspring, etc. to see what they are saying.
