Jim, I've agonized over Compaq's statements also. I've also looked at the projections from Dataquest and others, and have come to the conclusion that the growth in world-wide computer sales will not equal the previous years growth, but there will still be robust unit growth. The more I think about it (given the two month gap between Compaq's and Dell's quarter ends) that the problem may be specific to Compaq. Is it possible that Compaq is losing corporate accounts to Dell?
