Oh I see, if you pay an extra $500 for a 350MHz Pentium-II processor, then you save $50 by not buying a hardware DVD decoder. Plus, you won't be able to use your PC while the 350MHz processor is loaded to the gills running the SoftDVD software. Maybe this is the kind of economic thinking that got Intel to where it is (this quarter). Maybe the path to lower priced systems is not through the use of higher-powered and priced processors.
