Nice observation, seems to hold true actually. There is also more short covering in the larger more closely wathced companies than the ones like APM. So the smaller ones get weak and start dyign till the next batch of fuds start looking to buy in where as in the large ones the fuds which missed out the last time is just waiting in the wings for their chance..

Might actually write some puts on CPQ tomorrow. AUG 20 looks good, so if the price is 16 or so in AUG I will be outa buck..

Is it now illegal to short against the box? I know that a few years ago they made it that you HAVE to pay taxes on the gains when you short against the box. Seems new laws are always comming up. So what happens if you get your wife to short some shares you have. You already own the stock and you have to pay margin on the stock sold short but if its going down then why not.. hmmm.. so many questions and the irs is such a lil boy err thing..
