I think that is an overgeneralization at best. Plus, anyone working for an academic institution qualifies for TIAA-CREF.

I would have to ask what your experience is that would allow you to quantify 3 memos on TIAA-CREF as many academics suddenly becoming involved in the market. If anything, it shows that those holding TIAA-CREF are smart enough to know when to start moving the money out of the market and trying to find out how secure their investments are...
