Well Sure Fix: I havent covered the Siberian Craton., the booty of Russian diamonds are well documented. I think there still remains stigmas associated with investing in Russia whether real or imaginined India as well used to be a prime diamond producer years ago., the Orange river has been as well a big diamond source for alluvials., we know that diamonds are heavier than water., the very largest and usually the purest stones were eroded and washed into tributares., feeding the Orange., and along the coast of W. Africa. I will try and compose a list of the Cratons of the World according to geographic locations. A good source to start would be recognizing each deposit whether lamphroite or Classic Kimberlite., pinning them to the specific Craton of Origin and actually defining the economic deposits that are located ON CRATON vs. the economic deposits that located OFF CRATON. Traditionaly the Corridor of Hope NWT has been recognized as the lineal boundaries of economic pipes., however Winspear is West of that line., the diamond counts thus far prove there will be economics when a satisfactory tonnage level is reached. This is the screening method I use to start looking at potential areas. Even being in the right geology wont produce economics., but it will point you in a constructive pattern in which to initiate that search. One of the reasons I search for Classic Kimberlite exploration., is the knowledge of similiar geologic models for example Jwaening in Botswana. There can be a direct correlation between diamond grade shown by JJ Gurney in predicting potential grade. Gurney plots of G-10., G-9s was used in predicting potential grade at Jwaening before Norman Locke sited and drilled the first hole. I will note that I made a mistake., the Venetia is not in Botswana. I think we have the Orapa., Jwaening., and one other that starts with a V. The Venetia., is S. Africa. As far as diamond potential the Ukraine and Russia have some of the finest stones as well., but marketing those stones remains a question mark. If you will recall a few years back., 300mil was trying to be raised to progress the Russian program. I think there has been much difficulty by Sarka in raising those funds., but yes the Mir pipe had been a tremendous small producer., high quality and valuable stone. Land title and ownership rights of mining claims can present problems in any location., the NWT Diamet., sign off by the Inuits., the problems Southerna has had with the M1. Politically every aspect of mining involves risks., whether theyre production., political., enviromental etc. However Diamond mining in general produces less enviromental risks than mining gold., heap leach., cynanide extraction processes. Diamond Mining is probably the most enviromentally friendly mining today and rich deposits are exceedingly profitable. The current production of 112,000,000 carats with a future shortfall of 36,000,000 carats by the limits of the Argyle will ensure any deposit of economic significance will readily be absorbed into the marketplace. New deposits came on line in the early 1930., the early 50s each and everytime they were readily absorbed into the market place. The US consumption of diamonds is growing., there are new untapped markets across the world. Just think if DeBeers successfully penetrated the Chinese market. The Chinese Market alone would consume current production. Something to think about. All I am saying here if there is a protracted weakening in raw diamond prices., I want the very best high quality deposit available., because historically they will still be profit centers.
