Yaacov,

I got out of CPQ just before the downgrades. I made zero after having been in it for about 6 months. I had hope with the DEC/CPQ merger, one stop shopping and all of that, that it would take off and surpass Dell in share price but no luck. Now it appears the sub $1,000.00 machine may effect their revenue stream. It also appears management does not have a good handle on what's going on. I guess time will tell with CPQ and I do think it will take time to work it all out.

I do think that MSFT will be a winner under almost circumstance that I can think of. More sub $1,000.00 PC's sold more software sold. More workstations sold, more software sold. Regardless of the composition of the marketplace the bottom line is MSFT will most likely sell the operating system plus a suite of software to the users. Word, Excel and Powerpoint are almost the defacto standard in their particular areas. They are with most of the other business people I deal with.

My target price for MSFT this year is $100.00. I think that this price is attainable especially with a release of Windows in the wings and a new version of Office coming out. I also like a lot of the other areas that the company is looking at especially those that deal with e-commerce. I'll hang on to this one for a while and see how I do.
