Richard,

Thank you for a brilliant post. You covered many of the negative issues in a fresh and informative way. Although I was mostly secure in my own appraisal of REFR, it was nevertheless reassuring to hear from someone with your staying power.

You confirmed what I suspected: That Robert Saxe may be a better scientist than a businessman. Some might debate the point.

In a way, it may all be working out for the best. The long trek to commercialization has provided me with the opportunity to take a large position in the stock. Had it been successful sooner, I would have missed the early rise.

I'm printing out a copy of your response because it has a lot of solid information in it. I will also refer to your classic post when someone needs to be reminded of what is going on at REFR.

Thanks again...Paul

P.S. You write very well. I wished you had gone on.

Richard--Thanks for the informative post with the very long term perspective on REFR!

Some simple math indicates that, if you have been a shareholder for 22 years, and the company came public in 1986, that you were in fact a shareholder of REFR for quite some time BEFORE it went public.

To have been an owner for 10 years before the company came public, and still holding now 12 years later, implies to me that you probably have some kind of personal relationship with the company principals. Just a guess. Obviously you are not someone who found out about REFR from reading posts on the internet :)

I see nothing wrong with this at all--but was wondering if you could share some of this background with us. Understanding this "positioning" would allow us to get even more out of the perspectives you offer.

If it is not too much trouble, and not confidential, I was wondering if you could comment on your relationship to the company, how you got involved with it early on, and how you now interact with company principals.

Thank you very much in advance! :)
