<< Just curious, how do you reconcile Jesus being a great man with his claims of being God? >>

As an example: Suppose I tell you that I am God. Would you believe me? Why not?

<< How/why would a great man say the following if it weren't true?

"I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him."
>>

I have become a skeptic. There are so many liars that don't believe a lie is dishonorable. I was brought up not to lie.

Why don't I believe in Jesus as God? It's because I have a personal relationship with God. I wasn't looking for it. For most of my life I was an Atheist or Agnostic. Then, I had an experience that I cannot explain, and cannot understand. I have always believed in logic and science. If it can't be proved rationally, it doesn't exist.

Well, I found out that there was something bigger than what I understand. While it makes me feel good that I have found out the truth, it makes me sad that mankind is so willing to cast off compassion for others, for dogmatic religious doctrine.

As I said before. It is wrong from me to continue to post on this thread. I realize that this is a Christian thread, and I respect everyone that posts their views here.

This will be my last post.

Regards, Bob

Because he was saying that he is God. What a great hat trick, immaculate conception, The son is born, the son lives, the son dies for our sins. He tells us through his words who he is. The words 2000 years ago where probably so misunderstood and probably so far fetched to those that lived around him didn't understand it. Much like it if he walked this Earth today, saying such in today's terminology. It's just a lot clearer to see the meaning today after 2000 years.
