Dear thread: Clue #2 - A cat backed into a corner comes out fighting (read)

Listed below are 20 of Assensio's short recommendations that could be located and the price at which he issued his sell recommendation. Here are some interesting summaries:

Average short price: $30
Number of stocks shorted >$20: 14
Number of stocks shorted $15-19: 5
Number of stocks shorted under $15: 1

Mr. Asensio in 20 sell recommendations, has only shorted one stock that was even CLOSE to KRY in terms of price and risk of loss. And that one quickly moved in favor of him . . . unlike KRY's quick and breathtaking run from $3 to $8. And that pick did not have Fung, Nihon, Tejera-Paris and the mining industry of one of the world's most resource-rich countries waiting in the wings. In other words, his experience with shorting single digit stocks is virtually nonexistent. THIS MAN HAS NEVER TRULY FACED THE POWER OF LEVERAGE AND FINANCIAL RUIN THAT SHORTING A LOW-PRICED STOCK PROVIDES.
Only 5 of his picks were shorted at a "low" price of $15-19. The rest of the 20 (14 of them) were all shorted at $20 or higher (as high as $100). If you had had some success with 2 high profile shorts and became a bit too confident in yourself and decided to short a stock at $5 and had it move STRONGLY against you with the great potential for a legal court ruling that would break you, how would you react? Like a cat backed into a corner? The points I have been making with respect to the LIMITLESS risk associated with shorting a low-priced stock are very real and very powerful. This is a very different situation than Assensio has EVER been in. And he sure is swinging hard, isn't he? Ask yourself whether you have ever seen any other analyst attempt to generate this level of media sensationalism on a recommendatin before? The respected analysts do not. Ever. And if you shorted at $5, at what price would a margin call be triggererd? At what price do you think an even larger position, say over 1 million shares, might trigger a margin call . . . you have been warned. :)
