zurdo,

"But another way of looking at it is to dump the truck for the short term, and look elsewhere for the next few months. Come back and catch us on the upturn. Make money elsewhere, so you have more money to invest in compaq when it starts moving. I like that theory, but after a couple of decades of working with it, I found I'm too dumb, so I gave up. "

Maybe, dumping the truck would be wise for people with great market knowledge. My day job prevents me from collecting that knowledge. In the past when I tried dumping and coming back at a better time, my money would be tied up in my interim investment. I would not be able to return at the right time without losing more money in the process. Timing is a key factor.. I just have not had any success with the timing. Cost me too many good opportunities. I'm going to hang on to my shares and options for now. CPQ and INTC are my core stocks. You can never tell with Compaq, when it takes off, it takes off too fast to feel good about jumping in.

I had just watched a Stones concert on PBS before making that last post. Just had to use the material.
