<<Ashton's parent company in Australia is a diamond producer, do you think that may have anything to do with Ashton's success?>>
Actually I don't - A geologist finds oil and gas - and the company pays him. Many oil and gas companies are built around their senior geologists and exploration engineers. Just because a company operates a successful oil or gas field - it does not make them any better at finding new ones. I thought Ashtons Australian mine was based on a single lamprotite. Are we sure that Ashton even found it -or just put up the money after it was found?
The point that I am trying to make is that -yes Ashton is a good company- but even a one man company-with a good geologist-can do the same given the right property - mining - like oil and gas - is simply an educated crapshoot. Proximity to the existing proven pipes with diamonds is still the best edge. That is why I like Montello,Troymin, Newclaymore and Absolut the best -they are the closest to the known pipes. (same works with oil and gas) JP
