In the interview with EP, the last question he answers is about his determination to make that deal go through. I would consider this ample volition.

If only I new all the nuances of the Securities laws.

Don't know all the intricacies of the Securities laws and regulations, nonetheless I hear IT prevents buy-back of shares while a merger is underway. Perhaps someone more informed in these matters would be kind enough to post something on it.
