Pat, thats a great idea, simulated trading.
I have been ripping my hair out (and simulateously getting fat on chocolate chip cookies) trying to figure my taxes out for my accountant. (The more I organize the less it will cost.)
I made far too many trades last year and far too many of them were unprofitable. In fact, had I simply held on to coca cola, sara lee and McDonalds which I had for years, I'd have no tax burden, other than the dividend reinvestment dollars, and probably be further ahead!!!!!
As it turns out.
But trading is supposed to be fun (and I am a risk taker and need some risks to take to keep me from going out and doing nutty things for risk) so I do want to learn how.
How many companies did you follow while you did the simulations, and how closely (each day, highs and lows for each day, general movement over a week, etc) did you follow the price and did you follow the volume too?
