BB, I guess that means you're not going to up your estimate for AMAT's
stock price.<g> Now there is a new concern I see more and more often:
companies will hold back on IT investment until they understand the
cost of Y2K compliance.

BB,

Yes, I cannot argue that things do not look rosy now. The grim picture many painted on this thread last oct. is beginning to come to fruition. That being said, methinks you assume it will last longer than actual. Capex purchases are being delayed yet there is a robust demand for high-end PC's according to DELL's recent earnings report and their forward guidance was equally bullish. In addition, the sub-$1000 market is growing at a healthy clip, adversely affecting INTC's margins as they recently noted. Until the end-user demand falls off a cliff, I do not buy into the scenario that the INTC's, MU's et al will cut off their equipment expenditures. I am bullish, am also nervous for the ST.

BTW, may I suggest a thread for those in denial?

Buck...just incase you missed it...IBM did revise the expectations in the last earnings release.....they cut it by 15c a share. But investors ignored it just like they ignored INTC and MOT...Maybe CPQ will hit a little closer to home.....I am amazed how people think that the current market has discounted all the bad news.

BB,

Thanks for your post. You saved me all the time of trying to verbalize those same thoughts (really).
