AESOP sounds like a variation on water witching to me. Don't generally trust stuff like that, although my grandpappy had a remarkable aptitude for it. pg

Crysbal, There are about three/four different types of rock formation situations where oil/gas may be found. On top of or along the flanks of salt domes is one; old buried reefs along ancient water channels is a second; stratigraphic traps (where rock formations move underground and a formation rock is "cut off" by impenetrable rock such as shale which allows oil/gas to accumulate) is a third; and a fourth is a catch all for all other traps and folds...
