Excellent point. I've heard conjecture that part of the problem is that CPQ has been trying to get to Just in Time inventory like DELL's model a little too quickly. Shrinking inventory while trying to increase unit sales is like burning the candle at both ends.

CPQ mgt did say that corporate demand is weakening. This is definitely bad, and raises lots of questions, like: how bad is it, how long will it last, and will DELL once again pull a rabbit out of the hat and find a way to avoid a hit to net income in spite of the fact that CPQ has not.
