RE: What Market?

Milo and Bill,

Excellent points. That's something that Susan Stillings brought up in the Groundhog Day VCall Conference, too. The most important concern for the consumer "Zip" market is price. The most important concern for the professional "Jaz" market is speed, capacity, and reliability. Let's look at how some products fit (or don't fit) their market:

Consumer Market (concern = price):

Zip, $129/$13 - EXCELLENT!
LS-120, $149/$15 - Good
EZ230, $149/$25 - Good
SparQ, $199/$40 - Fair

Professional Market (concerns = speed, capacity, and reliability)

Jaz 2GB - EXCELLENT!
SyJet 1.5GB - Good
Jaz 1GB - Fair
SparQ 1GB - Poor (no SCSI, unreliable)
