Together they sat at the opening of Rambi's lair, overlooking the trees of DAR, Rambi, fetchingly attired in a peach satin lounging thong and matching peach high heeled slippers trimmed with ostrich feathers, penni not so fetching in an oversized Puccini t-shirt, white athletic socks, and a baseball cap.

"Look, I'm tired, I've had a long trip, and I still smell like a chicken," Rambi said in an irritated tone to penni. "Can't this wait til tomorrow?"

"No," said penni, with uncharacteristic firmness. "You left me here in charge and you know I'm not equipped to deal with anything heavier than lingerie, fine food, and frivolous banter."

Rambi sighed and reached for the bottle of Chardonnay she'd pulled out at the sight of penni crawling up the side of the mountain. "So,what's the problem?"

"Well-I thought I handled the out of control prime number competition competently..."

"Why didn't you just wave the Uzi in their faces and post all of the good ones yourself?"

"Because you took the Uzi with you, and besides, that wouldn't have been very nice." penni looked at Rambi disapprovingly. "And proper etiquette is never remiss."

Rambi closed her eyes in exasperation. "Good. You were wonderful. Why are you upset?"

"Because I'm exhausted from feeling responsible. I think I'm having a nervous breakdown from the pressure."

"You're exhausted?! Do you have any idea what I've been through?"

"Oh, but you like that stuff. That was a vacation for you." penni waved Rambi's complaints aside. "But for me, it was all too much. All those strange people and zombies and chickens and accents.. I'm worn out and I need a sabbatical."

"Well, go get some sleep," Rambi yawned.

"No, I'm moving in with you for a while."

"No, you're not." Rambi came suddenly alert at this horrifying remark.

penni snarled in a courteous way. "You seem to be forgetting who's typing this."

"But I don't want a roommate," wailed Rambi.

"It's not for long. Just until I get my strength back."

"But what will you tell everyone?" she moaned.

"If anyone asks, just tell them I'm suffering from nervous prostration, I'm undergoing a lobotomy, I'll be back after I learn how to dress and feed myself again."

"That's pitiful," Rambi muttered. "Stand up and be a real woman."

"That, my dear other half, is exactly what I'm going to do for a few days. Now where are the extra sheets?"
