Steve,
RE:, don't think Slick Willie is going to come down as I thought in January... (what a sorry state of ethics in the general public who think that the Clinton White House is doing anything BUT obstructing justice... the whole damage control network, attacking attackers, using the bully pulpit... I just can't wait for Bill to be out, don't much care who takes office after him, just as long as it is someone who isn't so blatantly lying to the public...)

Come on, don't hold back, tell us how you really feel!!!

Regards,
BB

Steve, page 20 of Barron's must be the John Murphy article?
I get it online where there are no page numbers. John says...

To sum up, February's stock market rally was supported by stronger global fundamentals and expectations for low inflation and low interest rates in the U.S. With most market averages at new highs, the long-term bullish trend is clearly intact, but several short-term negatives may make the going a bit tougher in March. The bond market will be key: If bond yields stay below 6.15%, any decline in stocks should be minimal. If they don't, we could see a bigger correction than most investors expect in the weeks ahead.

I'm more worried than he is because now INTC, MOT and CPQ have warned.
The situation looks worse for tech investors than for the market overall. And I share your belief that others will warn also. Many tech stocks are not that far above their lows, so have a shorter distance to fall.

Steve... the first rays of a brand new day are poking through the drapes of my room... I read your post and wanted to say this... I think slick is the most competent president of large industrialized nation for a generation... I think his morals are no different from many past presidents, but that our access to them is better... I think he is a consensus builder who has surrounded himself with truely competent people... the thing i like the best about him is that he genuinely loves the people, whatever color or class... I think it is sad that we choose to tear him apart rather than treasure him because he has done a great deal of good.... we have had this debate before.. and I look forward to having it with you in person, when I get back... How about the Gotham Bar and Grill for sone towering cuisine....

Steve & All,

A sobering thought on "Our one-way market" from Barrons, 09 Mar 98,
page MW97.
Year Ago
Last Wk Week
S&P 500 Index 1055.69 804.97
PE Ratio 26.47 20.77
Earns Yld % 3.78 4.82

Basically that's it, a PE of 26.47! GreatSakes. And earnings stink.

Aki,

Funny. I was going to go into a diatribe about how he probably thinks
women should be kept "barefoot and pregnant". And, I'm not even a
womens-lib type. I enjoy working and playing with men, but GeeWhiz.

regards,
Teri

PS. How's Paris? Darn, we're jealous.
