Mosel chairman sees DRAM recovery in H2

TAIPEI (AFX-ASIA) - Dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chip prices have
the potential to post significant recovery in the second half due to
increased demands, the Commercial Times quoted Mosel Vitelic Inc chairman Hu
Hung-jiu as saying.
He also said Mosel's 62 pct owned subsidiary ProMOS Technologies Inc saw
minor losses in core operations last year.
ProMos will start mass production of 64-megabit DRAMs using 0.25 micron
processing technology in the second quarter, the chairman said.
Mosel's unit in Tainan county of southern Taiwan will commence mass
production in September.
