I'm not a DELL bear either. I love the company, however I feel that
it is currently somewhat overextended. If you look at chart on
link

204.162.156.45

Dell is way over it's moving average. This could be interpreted two
ways: 1) return to trend growth 2) getting ahead of recent growth
pattern. I don't know which. I just wanted to get "the other side of
the coin" view.

With Intel warning, there seems to be some other issues at work than
just a COMPAQ meltdown. It is my impression that many of the CPQ
units overstocked in inventory have AMD chips. Thus the Intel warning
may be focused on companies other that CPQ (perhaps IBM, DELL, etc.).
Also the lead time for DELL 333 MHz units is 4 weeks due to limited supply of the chips. Will DELL suffer a sales slowdown since Intel
can't supply all the high end chips at a fast enough pace?

It's very difficult to separate a good company from a good stock
value. This may be a case in point where a great company reached
a valuation that just couldn't be sustained.

I thought you went long today, and I turn around and here you are! And there I was congratulating you on the regular Dell thread for having made a couple of points in one day. Now, what am I to believe?

Regards,
