My email to SEC:

Dear Folks,
Compaq today, Friday, March 6, 1998, has announced poorer earnings this quarter, caused by inventory "stuffed" in the channels, among other things. My difficulty, as an investor is, that there have been rumors floating around the web regarding COmpaq "Stuffing" the inventory channels, having decreased earnings in January and February, and, for some strange reason there have been quite a few analysts who have cut earnings estimates in the past few weeks PRIOR to the announcement. One such analyst, Mr. Gardner, of Solomon Smith Barney cut his earnings estimate two weeks ago! Strangely enough I've been told by an employee that Smith BArney is the firm that handles Compaq employee's stock option plan. Is this a coincidence that a SMith Barney analyst pre-pre-warns the market that Compaq is due for a tumble or is it deliberate. Certainly the stock has been dropping in price during this time that the earnings estimates have been cut and the recommendations have been down graded by a number of firms, including ML and AG Edwards.

There are quite a few of us who'd appreciate your looking at this situation.
