John: Way back when, both Skeeter and I crossed swords with David G over MU's possible earnings this quarter. Both of us argued that a bit of simple math suggested that the company would drop a big bundle this Q. I stick with my forecast of that time, that the company will provide a loss of at least .30 per share. Obviously accounting gimmickry can still be utilized , but I've factored that in. I think they have used up most of the standard ruses. Best, Earlie

A clarification: Let's go with MU's final number, the one that includes all the one-time baloney, accounting tricks, etc. The resourcefulness of MU's accountants and lawyers is a big part of MU's business, so it should be noted in our little exercise.
